INFORMATION ABOUT DENIM FOR VETS

Page created for facilitating pickup of donated denim. Denim will be utilized in the making of quilts for local veterans.

The quilt tops are the creation of Ruth Smith... She does an awesome job with the help of the Stitch and Chatter Quilters of Ukiah, Oregon. They assist Ruth in obtaining donations of supplies such as flannel fabric for the backing of the quilts and batting. The quilts are
... a generous 84x90 inches. Tied in the old fashioned way, they are warm and cozy!

Those folks who don't have denim are certainly welcome to contribute to quilt making process with gift cards or monetary donations. We do NOT have a non profit status. Very VERY small operation, and could not handle the $300.00 requirement annually to keep a 501 (c)3 in operation.

We are local folks expressing our deep thanks and appreciation for the service of our local veterans.

The majority of the quilts are given out at the Stitch And Chatter Quilt Show on the 4th of July. Others have been given for special groups such as the all veteran Fire Fighting Crew, Umatilla Veteran Crew Pictured on our page.

We are in NO WAY affiliated with Quilts of Valor with our Denim For Vets Project.  Some of the ladies do participate with Quilts of Valor on their own...

Thanks for reading along, hope you will share our story and our project with your family and friends!
